Laboratory Manager

Simon was raised on a sheep, beef & deer farm approximately one hour inland from Dunedin. After completing a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry & Microbiology) from Massey University in 1994, he worked for a short time at CRV Ambreed and CRT before joining the DRL laboratory at Otago University in 1998. Simon started with DRL in the diagnostic lab as a technician while also providing technical support for research projects as required. Simon now has responsibility for all serological testing (TB & Johne’s disease) undertaken by DRL, ensuring that samples submitted for routine testing are processed quickly and efficiently while also providing vital customer service and support as the first point of contact for most clients and voice at the end of the phone.
